West Meets East for these Picturesque Wedding Photos in New Glasgow
As some of you might know, our (grown up) baby girl, Melanie, married her soulmate, Jackson, last weekend. It was a wonderful week of wedding preparations and getting to know our new family. It made this time of wedding photos in New Glasgow even more special.
Melanie moved out to Alberta in October 2015 to pursue her nursing career. She was fortunate to meet members of the Leussink family and was then introduced to Jackson. They knew it was meant to be from the beginning. At the reception, Melanie admitted:
“I had my wedding party picked out after two months of dating!”

Mother Nature
Although Mother Nature didn’t quite cooperate with our plans of an outdoor wedding, that didn’t dampen any spirits.
“Looks like it’s going to be a cloudy day today, I think God should have a better view at the church, so we will see you all there at 2pm!”
The wedding ceremony took place at New Glasgow Christian Church, our family church we grew up with. It was a beautiful service with Barry Clark and Tim Edwards giving their words of love and encouragement. Jason and Katie shared an emotional song. And a new tradition of joining families with the Albertan and Islander dirt.

And of course, the Mustang burn out and send off of Mr. & Mrs. Leussink!

Reception
The wedding party headed over to Cymbria Lions Club in South Rustico for some pictures before the reception started at 6pm. The rain held off, so we were able to capture our pictures outside!
Cymbria volunteers were amazing and the roast beef and turkey dinners were great! As dessert came out, the touching speeches began from parents of the bride and groom, best man, maid of honour and brother of the bride. The reception would not have been as fun as it was without the great emcee skills of Martin Dutton!
Next up, Melanie & Jackson share their first dance as newly weds! The night continues on the dance floor.
Thanks to everyone who made this wedding in New Glasgow possible! We had such a memorable and great week. Special thanks to Courtney and Tori for helping out with photographing this day!
We’ll be adding more pictures as we make our way through all of them! I’m sure some of them will end up in our Wedding Gallery of best memories! What were your favourite memories?

For those of you that know Janet, you know that she is very talented in writing poems for special events. She did not disappoint for her baby girl’s wedding day. Read her poem below for their love story. 🙂
Thanks for all the great pictures! Can’t wait to see more. So many great memories from the whole week and especially the wedding….we will be back!
