Why They Decided To Take Year After Wedding Photos on Their First Anniversary
You may remember Melanie & Jackson’s wedding from 2017. Well one year later, they decided to celebrate their first wedding anniversary on Prince Edward Island and put on their wedding dress and suit and take some new photos! Check out their year after wedding photos and what the bride had to say about their decision:
Jackson and I were married August 19, 2017. One unfortunate thing about that summer was that most Saturdays were stormy and therefore I’m certain many couples were unable to get all the photos they wanted in their wedding dress. Our wedding day was pretty close to a hurricane, with a twenty minute window that allowed us to get some photos outside with our wedding party before freezing or getting soaked in the rain.
So, the following year on our anniversary, my husband and I decided to get some more photos in our wedding dress and suit. We brought our things out to PEI again (we live in Alberta), and we hired Martin Caird of Sandpiper Studios to do our year after wedding photos. It was wonderful! We stayed at Dalvay by the Sea and got photos in the building, outside and on the beach. (Growing up in Prince Edward Island, it was important to me to have photos at the beach!) We did a lot of the photos we were unable to get on our wedding day. We didn’t have our wedding party for the anniversary photos, but we got a lot of photos of the two of us and we were so impressed with how they turned out!
I highly recommend first anniversary photography with Martin Caird of Sandpiper Studios. He makes us feel comfortable, gets us to laugh for authentic photos and knows all the poses that we forgot to research. He also has great experience photographing all over the island, so he has great recommendations for beautiful spots for photos. Thank you Martin for giving us more wonderful memories!
